About Deb

I’m a professional speaker, presenting to groups and organizations about the benefits of social networking. I like to help people learn how to use social networking in a way that helps expand their professional networks, create business and get new clients. To learn more about having me speak at your group, or what my topics are, please visit my Web site. I’ve given keynote presentations, seminars and workshops to groups throughout the United States, including the Women’s Vision Foundation, the Association of Public-Safety Communications (APCO) Officials, Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and Kiwanis, Progressive Business Conferences, eWomenNetwork and the National Association of Women Business Owners.

I’m also principal of  WWC Events, a full-service corporate event planning company and president of Wise Women Communications (WWC), a public relations and marketing firm. My background includes more than 15 years of experience in event coordination, media and public relations, internal and external communication, crisis management, integrated marketing campaigns, brand management, Web site development, and community relations.

Before I founded WWC, I managed the corporate communications programs for the Denver site of ING Group and serving as a media and communications coordinator for the Rocky Mountain Region of the American Cancer Society. In addition, I provided public relations and lobbying support for Denver-based Corporate Advocates and was the director of public relations and account manager for Linnell & Soreide Marketing Partners, a full-service marketing and advertising firm. I have an MBA degree with an emphasis in marketing from the University of Colorado and an MS in communications management from Colorado State University.

I’m currently a member of the Alliance of Professional Women, the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce and the Women’s Vision Foundation. I’m a past president of The Association for Women in Communications (Denver Chapter) and was honored as an Outstanding Woman of Achievement by AWC in 2008. In my “free time,” I’m the president of the University of Colorado Denver Buff Club. I currently sit on the executive advisory council for the American Lung Association of Colorado and am on the marketing committee for Families First Colorado.
